We have just completed this year’s edition of the American Service Academies Program (ASAP), a 16-day program for a select group of cadets from U.S. military academies, organized by our Foundation.
During the Polish part of the program, participants visited Warsaw, Oświęcim, and Krakow, learning about the history of these cities and their inhabitants during World War II and the Holocaust. They toured former ghettos in Krakow and Warsaw, as well as the death camps in Treblinka and Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The program, created by the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation, focuses on the Holocaust and contemporary ethical issues, helping future officers understand the importance of ethical leadership and the dangers of unchecked power.
