Our museum had the honor of hosting a delegation of 26 ambassadors representing United Nations Member States during a study visit dedicated to Holocaust education and international responsibility for remembrance. The delegation was led by Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon.
The program began in Kraków with a formal dinner held at the Galicia Jewish Museum, a longstanding partner institution. The evening provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue about contemporary challenges in Holocaust education, the role of diplomacy in combating antisemitism, and the importance of fostering a culture of responsibility and intercultural dialogue.
The following day, the delegation visited the Auschwitz Memorial as well as the Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot Synagogue and the Oshpitzin Jewish Museum, where diplomats learned about the vibrant prewar Jewish community of Oświęcim, the devastation of the Holocaust, and ongoing efforts to preserve memory through education.
The visit underscored the importance of international cooperation in strengthening global responsibility for remembrance and building a future grounded in respect, knowledge, and dialogue.
