Groups of young people and adults from Europe, North America, Africa, and Australia participating in this year’s March of the Living visited the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation in Oświęcim.

During the visit, participants learned about the history of the town’s prewar Jewish community and the experiences of local Jewish residents during the Holocaust. The program included visits to the Chewra Lomdej Misznajot Synagogue, the Jewish Museum, and walking tours of Jewish heritage sites in Oświęcim. The groups visited the town square and other important landmarks connected to the history of the local Jewish community.

The visits provided an opportunity to reflect on the centuries-long Jewish presence in Oświęcim and on the importance of memory and education in fostering intercultural dialogue.
